Helping Women Find their Identity in Christ

7 Scriptures on the Importance of Reading the Bible

Reading the bible is important because it teaches us, admonishes us when we disobey God, helps correct us when we make a mistake, and trains us to become more Christlike so that we are thoroughly qualified to do the work the Lord called us to do.

Also of importance in reading the bible, is to give us encouragement and hope. Hope when life becomes so overbearing, there is no other place to turn.

But we must not just read the bible, we must act upon what we are learning. The knowledge we gain from the bible must be put into practice. Jesus said putting his words into practice is like building a house on a rock. The words of the bible are the foundation to living a fruitful, abundant, successful, and God-fearing life.

Here are seven scriptures to encourage you to read the bible and live out its words.
